Born 2 April 1963, Chapple-Hyam trained in Hong Kong between 1999 and 2003 and prepared a total of 30 winners. Prior to this stint he was known as one of the premier trainers in England and itˇ¦s a reputation he has redeemed since returning home, particularly with his second victory in this yearˇ¦s Epsom Derby thanks to Authorized. His strike-rate with juveniles has also been exemplary. Overall, he has prepared 24 Gr.1 winners throughout Europe since 1991.

Born 18 August 1963, son of South African champion trainer, Ormonde Ferraris, began training in 1995. He won the South African trainers' title on four occasions, netting 25 Gr.1 victories in well over 1000 wins with the champions Classic Flag and Celtic Grove his most outstanding performers. He moved to HK in 2003/04 and has registered close to 150 wins. He will always be remembered for plotting six Gr.1 wins with Vengeance Of Rain whose victory in the 2007 Dubai Sheema Classic cracked the top ten of the all-time stakes earners.

Born 19 June 1940, Blume trains around 75 horses in Cologne and is from one of Germanyˇ¦s most famous racing dynasties - his uncle and grandfather were both top trainers. Born 19 June 1947, one of the greatest jockeys in French racing history he was champion jockey six times and won the Prix De l'Arc de Triomphe on four occasions. Born in 1954, he obtained his trainers licence in 1981 and is now based at Chantilly. His first major winner came in 1984 when Lady Tamara gook the Gr.3 Prix Minerve and his first Gr.1 arrived via Saint-Andrews in the Prix Ganay in 1988. He took a break from training in the mid 1990s but returned to the fold in 2000 and four years later won the 2004 French Oaks with Latice. He began training in 1985, prior to which he held the position of assistant trainer to his famous father, George. He has dominated Irish and much of European racing since - Irish Champion Trainer on ten occasions and this year he won the British title for a third time. Backed by the Coolmore bloodstock empire, he has plundered around 130 Gr.1s and Classics worldwide with the likes of Galileo, Giant's Causeway, Rock Of Gibraltar, High Chaparral and Dylan Thomas outstanding. Also set a new record for Gr.1 winners in a year (23) in 2001. He was also a multiple champion jumps trainer - Istabraq won three Champion Hurdles.

Champion trainer in Germany on four occasions, he has won five German Derbies and as many German Oaks. He has won in excess of 80 stakes races, including several Gr.1s worldwide most notably via Samum, Caitano, Borgia, Elle Danzig, Dai Jin, Robertico, Waky Nao and Epalo the 2004 World Racing Championship winner. Born 27 June 1960, rode 24 winners between 1977 and 1983. He learned the training ropes as former multiple HK champion Ivan Allan's assistant, before setting out on his own in 2003/04 when he began brightly with 34 winners. He did better to run third in the Trainers' Premiership in his second term with Gr.1 Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Classic Mile victor Scintillation outstanding. The same horse won him the Gr.1 Centenary Sprint Cup in 2006 and 2007 and he has recorded over 150 wins overall.

Born 19 October 1966, he took out his trainer's licence in 1994 and joined Sheikh Mohammed's mighty Godolphin operation a year later. He has been champion trainer in Britain four times and has prepared a colossal 149 Gr.1 winners worldwide. Dubai Millennium is widely regarded as the best he has trained. Evidently, there are very few races to have eluded his grasp and in Hong Kong he has won the QEII Cup with Overbury in 1996, the Hong Kong Cup in 2000 with Fantastic Light and the CXHK Mile in 2004 with Firebreak.

Greatest moment came with Fairy King Prawn's success in the inaugural Hong Kong Sprint of 1999. Bounced back impressively last season after a quiet 2005/06 season to prepare 24 winners with the best win strike-rate in town of 13.3 per cent. That strike-rate has improved this year and his team is led by the exciting four-year-old Sacred Kingdom, recent winner of the Cathay Pacific InternationalSprint Trial.
