| Selection for each of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races (CXHKIR) will be carried out through the following process: |
1. |
The Head of Handicapping and Race Planning will, in consultation with members of the International Panel of Senior Handicappers and Racing Officials, assign a rating to each horse that has been nominated or supplemented for each of the CXHKIR. |
2. |
These ratings will form the basis for the selection procedure, although the Selection Panel will consider all relevant factors. |
3. |
Each race is limited to 14 starters. |
4. |
The HKJC has, as a selection priority, the overall quality of the field for a race. The HKJC reserves the right, and has the sole authority to decide on the number of runners in the race, after careful consideration of any entry's overall standing & potential to perform adequately in the race. Consequently, no entry, whether national or international, is guaranteed selection even if fewer than the maximum 14 starters are selected. |
5. |
A Selection Panel comprising the Executive Director of Racing, Head of Handicapping and Race Planning and the Manager of International Races, Sale & Development has the sole authority and discretion in determining the line-up of each race, and the decision of the Selection Panel shall be final.
|
6. |
The option to transfer to another race is not available after the selections are officially announced. |
7. |
Performances up to 19 November 2007 will be taken into account. |
