The
Hong Kong International Sale (HKIS) is a thoroughbred horse auction
organised by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The 11th HKIS
will be held at the Parade Ring in Sha Tin Racecourse, on 12 December
2005, 5:30 pm. This year's HKIS
will feature a catalogue of 30 horses from some of the worldˇ¦s most
renowned thoroughbred sales.
Last year, a total of 19 lots were sold for HK$43,000,000, or an average
of HK$2,263,158. A Bonus of HK$ 1 Million will be awarded to the 2005
HKIS graduate that has the highest cumulative prize money earnings at
the close of the 2006/2007 racing season in Hong Kong. Good Ba Ba,
last season's Champion Griffin, leads the race for the bonus for horses
from the 2004 auction. Great Achievement, the winner of the
bonus from the 2003 Sale, won in Class 2 on November 1 and has earned
over HK$4.4 million to date. Meanwhile, Scintillation, the
previous season's highest earner, has amassed almost HK$13m in prize-money
with victory in the Gr.1 Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Classic Mile the highlight.
