Hong Kong International Racing Festival

The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races (CXHKIR) is recognised as the Turf World Championships and the 2008 renewal will be held at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 14 December.  A total purse of HK$62 million will be up for grabs for the world's top equine stars contesting in the four International Group 1 races on that day.

Racegoers will enjoy a carnival ambience at Sha Tin Racecourse on a day that offers exciting races, spectacular performances and international culinary delicacies.

CXHKIR cap designed by renowned local artist - free gift to all

Racegoers will receive a CXHKIR cap designed by renowned local artist Siuhak as a free door gift upon admission to Sha Tin Racecourse before the start of Race 5, while stocks last.    Admission to Sha Tin Racecourse starts at 10:25 am.  Siuhak, a prolific local artist with works appearing in various media in Hong Kong, is known for his MTR souvenir ticket designs and his panda cartoon series. 

Opening show featuring Canto pop diva Joey Yung and magic show from down under

The magical Magic2 duo from Australia will perform at the opening show to be held in the Parade Ring from 11:00 am, kicking off a series of programmes of the 3^rd Hong Kong International Racing Festival.  Magic2 features the dynamic creative talents of two of Australia's most innovative illusionists, Michael Boyd and Cathie Costello.  Canto pop diva Joey Yung, along with young singers Sherman Chung, Keith Wong and Alex Wu will also perform at the show.

Magic moments for all to enjoy

Photo session with Shetland ponies

Racegoers will also be able to have their photos taken with Shetland ponies at Sha Tin on the day. 

Pyrotechnic Show at Closing Ceremony

The day's excitement and sporting victories will reach a fitting climax at the Closing Ceremony, which will feature a spectacular pyrotechnic show.
