Cathay Pacific International Cup Trial (16 November)
The Cathay Pacific International Cup Trial was introduced in the 2002/2003 racing season as a lead-up race to the Hong Kong Cup. Originally a Group 3 event, this race was upgraded to a domestic Group 2 event in the 2003/2004 racing season. Prize money for this year is HK$3,000,000.

Cathay Pacific International Mile Trial (23 November)
The Cathay Pacific International Mile Trial is a domestic Group 2 race for three year olds and upwards that is run over the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile distance of 1600 metres. This race has been established to ensure that top Hong Kong horses are suitably prepared for the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races. Prize money for this year is HK$3,000,000.
