About the Competition
 Canadian female jockey Chantal Sutherland will be representing her country in the Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship at Happy Valley Racecourse on Wednesday 9 December, competing with 11 male counterparts. It will be the first time she has ridden on a Hong Kong racetrack. Sutherland was thrilled to hear of the Club's practice of assigning a Chinese name to every foreign jockey who rides in Hong Kong, and asked if the Club could host a public naming campaign for her. The Club has therefore decided to launch the online campaign "Name our Chantal".

To join the competition,simply submit your suggestion (max. 4 Chinese characters) with personal information.

Winners will be announced on the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races website on 4 Dec,2009.
*Participants must be aged 18 or above.
Judging and Prizes
 The panel of judges, drawn from various Club departments, will select one suggestion as the official Chinese name for Chantal Sutherland. The successful nominator can win prizes as follows:
(1) 4 complimentary tickets* for admission to the Public Enclosure of Happy Valley Racecourse to watch the Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship on Wednesday 9 December 2009
with an opportunity of meeting and having a photo taken with jockey Chantal Sutherland. (2) 4 complimentary tickets (valued at $312) to the CXHKIR Trackside Breakfast with the Stars
which will be held from 8:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday 12 December 2009 at Sha Tin Racecourse, where the Hong Kong International Sale will take place. (3) 4 complimentary tickets* for admission to the Public Enclosure of Sha Tin Racecourse to watch the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races on Sunday 13 December 2009. -

Notification for prize collection
- The results will be announced on www.cxhkir.com on 4 December(Fri), following which the Club will notify the winner to collect the prizes.
- Winners should collect the prize at the designated location within the designated hours. Otherwise, they will be disqualified.
- Should more than one entrant have suggested the chosen official name, the prizes will go to the person whose entry was received first, according the Club's website records.
- For other relevant information, please refer to the Terms and Conditions stipulated mentioned below.
 Terms and Conditions:
- All participants must be aged 18 or above and hold a valid Hong Kong Identity Card.
- The name used for registration must be the same as the name on the participant’s Hong Kong Identity Card. All winners must present their HKID card upon the prize redemption.
- Winners who have provided incorrect email addresses and mobile phone number will be disqualified.
- Results will be announced on the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races website www.cxhkir.com on 4 December 2009 (FRI).
- All the prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
- The Hong Kong Jockey Club will not be responsible for any failures or delays during the email or phone call sending process. No prize will be granted for post-date collection.
- Staff of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
- The Hong Kong Jockey Club is not the source supplier of any of the prizes (souvenir)to be awarded . The use of all prizes by their winners is subject to the terms and conditions stipulated by its provider; any dispute arising from the use of any of the prizes shall be resolved between the winner sand the source suppliers, for which The Hong Kong Jockey Club accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever.
